  • What is Poly lumber?
    Poly material is made out of recycled plastic and petroleum-based products. It does not rot and is low maintenance. Poly is not paintable. The Poly Beaver Dam uses is from Tangent Materials.
  • How do I clean Beaver Dam poly furniture?
    Pencil Marks: Use a mild dish detergent and water to saturate the stain. Rinse clean with water. Ink/Marker: For tougher stains, treat area with a penetrating oil. Wipe off and wash clean with water and a mild dish detergent. Grease or Oil Stain: Use a mild dish detergent and water to saturate the stain. Rinse clean with water. Embedded Dirt: Use a mild dish detergent and water to saturate the stain. Rinse clean with water. Wine: Use a mild dish detergent to saturate the area. Scrub with a soft-bristled brush. Rinse clean with water. Chewing Gum: Use a mild dish detergent to saturate the area. Scrub with a soft-bristled brush and rinse clean with water. Coat penetrating oil over the area. Gently pry up on any hard pieces with a plastic putty knife. Utilize a soft brush and acetone solvent to remove any fine debris and clean out any crevasses. Rinse area clean with water. Bird Droppings: Use a mild dish detergent to saturate the area. Scrub with a soft-bristled brush and rinse clean with water. Stains & Scuffs: A foam eraser sponge may be used for stubborn marks. Iron or Rust: For tough iron and rust stains, saturate with a heavy-duty rust remover and scrub with a soft-bristled brush. Using a Power Washer: If using a high-pressure power washer, do not exceed 1500 PSI. Please note, some tips may damage the product. We suggest testing on the underside of the product until satisfied.
  • Will Beaver Dam Poly furniture fade?
    Poly material does have built-in UV protection; however, it is not an invincible material. Over the years slight fading may occur if the furniture is continually exposed to direct sunlight over long periods of time. We use and exterior grade paint called Benjamin Moore.
  • What warranty does Beaver Dam furniture offer?
    There is a limited warranty on Beaver Dam furniture, as outlined below. Beaver Dam warrants to the original consumer purchaser that its outdoor polyethylene patio furniture is free of defects of workmanship and materials. The warranty period is (20) years of residential use and (5) years of commercial use, with exceptions of certain parts explained below, from the date of sale. This warranty does not cover damage caused by unauthorized service or repair; alteration or abuse, normal wear and tear on materials, or any attempt to use the product in a manner or for a purpose other than for which it is intended. Beaver Dam will repair or, at its option, replace the defective product without charge. Should Beaver Dam choose to replace the product, and the product is discontinued, a substitute product of similar function and equal or greater value will be made. The sole remedy provided in this warranty is repair or replacement of this product. Any cost of shipping or handling will be paid by you. Polyethylene may scratch during normal use, fade slightly from exposure to sunlight, or stain after prolonged contact with liquid substances. These conditions are not defects and are not covered under this warranty. Stainless steel fasteners are warranted to not fail structurally for the applicable warranty period if properly maintained. Swivels are warranted for (5) years of residential use. This warranty does not cover rusted fasteners or swivels, or structural failure due to rusted fasteners or and swivels, resulting from improper maintenance. Beaver Dam has a (1) year warranty on all lighting accessories, this warranty does not cover damage caused by mishandling or abuse. Beaver Dam makes no warranties other than those which are expressly described therein. All Nautical Décor products are excluded from any warranty, such as lighthouse, windmills, wishing wells, etc. This warranty mainly applies to outdoor poly furniture. To file warranty claim, contact your dealer. Your claim must explain the nature of the defect and include your name, address, and telephone number. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may have other rights which vary from state to state., as defined by federal law. This is a limited warranty.
  • Is Beaver Dam poly furniture made in USA?
    Yes, all products are manufactured in the USA by skilled Amish craftsmen.
  • What is the warranty on Shadowspec umbrellas?
    Shadowspec warranty covers the Frame, Canopy and Protection Cover separately, giving you peace of mind that your investment will stand up and protect your friends, family and guests. For more information about these umbrellas, get in touch with us and we'll gladly put your mind at ease.
  • Can I replace the umbrella canopy?
    Yes, there is a fully stocked warehouse with replacement and alternative canopies for all umbrella models. If you'd like to get a new canopy, choose a new colour or replace one at the end of its natural lifespan get in touch and we'll be happy to help.
  • Will these umbrellas withstand high winds?
    Shadowspec umbrellas are rated to Beaufort 5, which is regarded as winds of 29 - 38 kph or 19 - 24 mph. What does this mean? 35 kph or 21 mph wind will blow over a full wine glass and tear a newspaper from your hand. If you’re not comfortable outside in the wind, then it's safe to assume your Shadowspec outdoor umbrella won’t be comfortable either. So it’s time to take it down, wrap it up with the provided protection cover and head inside.   • How do I clean the frame of my Shadowspec umbrella?
    Hose down your umbrella with fresh water Wash the frame with warm, soapy water Rinse the soap off Allow the frame to air dry Remember to cover your umbrella with the protection cover when it's not in use.
  • What maintenance does my Shadowspec umbrella require?
    To get the most out of your shade it's important that you take care of it. Proper care and maintenance is important to extend the serviceable life of all Shadowspec Umbrellas. Freshwater rinses once a week will enhance the life of your Shadowspec Umbrella. In cases where you wish to store your Umbrella during the winter season, the canopy should be cleaned, air-dried and stored in a dry and well-ventilated area. Weekly inspection of your Shadowspec Umbrella is recommended. Loose screws should be tightened and any broken components replaced immediately to avoid further damage to your umbrella. At the beginning of each season, we recommend checking and tightening your hardware. If you are in a coastal area; hose your umbrella down at the end of each season, dry it out, and put your protection cover on before storing it away. Frame Cleaning Instructions 1. Brush off any loose dirt 2. Hose down the frame 3. Wash with warm soapy water 4. Allow time for the frame to air dry Canopy & Protection Cover Cleaning Instructions Canopies should be cleaned regularly before dirt is allowed to accumulate and become embedded in the fabric. Note: The use of heavy detergents and/or contact with heat above 40° C may damage your canopy or cause shrinking. For quick cleans, the canopy fabric can be left on the Frame 1. Brush off any loose dirt and particles 2. Hose down the canopy 3. Clean with a mild soap in lukewarm water 4. Rinse thoroughly to remove soap 5. Allow fabric to air dry. For thorough cleans Hand Wash 1. Prepare a cleaning solution of 60ml of mild soap for 4L of lukewarm water 2. Clean with a soft bristle brush and allow cleaning solution to soak into fabric. 3. Rinse thoroughly and allow the fabric to air dye. Machine Wash 1. Brush off any loose dirt 2. Machine wash at 40°C on a delicate/gentle cycle 3. Allow fabric to air dry To clean mildew or other stubborn stains 1. Prepare a solution of 240ml of bleach and 60ml of mild soap for 4L of clean water 2. Spray on entire area and allow to soak into the fabric. 3. Scrub vigorously with a soft bristle brush, sponge or clean towel 4. Rinse thoroughly 5. Allow fabric to air dry Important Note: This method of cleaning may remove part of the water repellency. If water repellency is a factor, the fabric should receive an application of an air-curing water repellent treatment (such as SM fabric guard).
  • How to service my Shadowspec umbrella?
    We recommend thoroughly checking over your Shadowspec umbrella after long periods of storage. You will need the following (or similar) products: Multi-surface cleaner (must be suitable for fabric, plastics, vinyl, stainless steel and other metals) *303 is recommended by Sunbrella for use on canopies WD40 or similar (with lubrication and anti-corrosion properties) Old rag or cleaning cloth (avoid using your finest cotton sheets) *Coarse brush if cleaning your canopy. STEP 1: Lubricate all the below parts and any other areas that have high movement. This is to ensure everything moves freely to avoid wear and tear. STEP 2: Make sure to wipe down and clean your umbrella mast including any exposed stainless steel components to help avoid any corrosion. This includes, but not limited to: The mast top to bottom Inside the Shadow glide track Your chosen mounting option Canopy (We recommend using a coarse brush and chosen multi purpose cleaner)
